Build guide

In the order you would actually build it. Each stage says how much of it the chats really specify. Click a stage to highlight its parts.

Assemble it yourself

Start with an empty bench and put the device together. Pick the part you think goes on next. If it cannot go on yet, you will be told what it is waiting for and why.

Parts on the bench

Activate the Ankh

Plays a pure sine wave through this computer's speakers and lights the core. Tune it to any frequency.

Frequency

Hertz

Sound

Volume

Pulse rate (Hz)

Pulse rate 0 is a steady tone. Any other value makes the tone swell and fade that many times a second, which lets you hear a rhythm that is too slow to be a note: for example 7.83.

The maths of this tone

Prove it is real: measure it

While the tone is playing, this listens through your microphone and reports the strongest frequency actually in the room. If it matches what you tuned, the air really is vibrating at that rate.

Make it physical: drive a real coil from this computer

This is the honest way to make the Ankh "work through the computer". The app becomes the device's signal generator.

The headphone socket carries this same sine wave as electricity: about 1 volt, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Plug it into a small audio power amplifier rated for 4 Ω speakers.
Connect the amplifier's speaker terminals to your wound 5.5 Ω coil instead of a speaker.
Press Activate. The coil now carries a real alternating current, and a real magnetic field, at whatever frequency you tune here.
The Coil Lab predicts the current, heat and field: set its Peak voltage to your amplifier's output.

Start with the volume at zero and bring it up slowly. The coil will get warm.
Do not wire the coil straight to the headphone socket. It is far too weak to drive 5.5 Ω, so you would get almost no field. The amplifier is what does the work.
Audio equipment blocks anything below about 20 Hz. Use Pulse rate for slower rhythms.
That gives you a real, measurable field. It does not make it a treatment.

What is already physical in this computer

Its speaker is a coil of copper wire moving in the field of a neodymium magnet. Playing a tone puts a small alternating magnetic field around it, a few centimetres wide, at the frequency you chose.
Its clock is a real quartz crystal, vibrating by the same piezoelectric effect described for the amethyst. It is sealed and fixed at one frequency.
Its chips and contacts contain silicon, copper and gold. Software cannot redirect any of these to send energy into a person. The speaker and the headphone socket are the only outputs it can tune.

What this can and cannot do

Speakers and hearing cover roughly 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Small speakers fade out below about 100 Hz.
A sound card cannot play 900 kHz. That end of the device's range would need a dedicated signal generator.
Through the speakers alone this is sound in the air, not the coil's field. Follow the steps above to turn it into one.
Keep the volume low. A steady pure tone can damage hearing and speakers faster than music at the same setting.

Frequency medicine that has been tested

You asked whether this is possible. Frequencies are used in real medicine, and here is what that looks like next to a Rife machine.

Every proven one uses purpose-built hardware that delivers a measured dose to a specific part of the body, and went through trials in patients. None of them work through a speaker or a computer's own parts.

About the goal: telomeres

Nothing here treats or prevents any illness. Please do not let it stand in for seeing a doctor.

Your personal program

Enter a name and a date of birth. The app works out the five core numbers of numerology, shows every step of the sum, and turns them into a sequence of tones that is yours.

Your root tone

Most people have never been told a root tone, so the app can find one from you. Hum one steady, comfortable note for four seconds, or find your pulse at your wrist and tap along with it.

Pulse each tone at the rate of its number

Saved people

Names and birth dates are kept only on this computer, in this app. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Research

Searches open research sources over the internet, and keeps what you choose in a memory log that you can add to over time.

What is written at the sites

Scripts that have been deciphered were cracked by generations of scholars, and their readings are summarised here. The undeciphered ones are still undeciphered: nobody, including an AI, can decode a script from a handful of short texts in an unknown language.

Why the unread scripts stay unread

Every script that has been cracked had at least one of three things going for it:

A key in a known language. The Rosetta Stone says the same thing in Greek and Egyptian. That is what let Champollion read hieroglyphs in 1822.
A language that survives. Maya glyphs fell once scholars matched them to Mayan languages still spoken today. Linear B fell in 1952 when it turned out to be early Greek.
Enough text to test a guess. A proposed reading has to be checked against many inscriptions. With only a few short ones, any number of readings fit equally well.

Rongorongo, the Indus script and Linear A have none of the three. A new find, such as a long inscription or one written in two languages, is what would change that. No amount of computing can stand in for evidence that does not exist.

Results

Ignores effects that matter at the top of the range: skin effect, the winding's own capacitance and self-resonance. Treat results above about 100 kHz as optimistic.

How each figure is calculated

Wire diameter	d = 0.127 mm × 92^{(36 − AWG) / 39}
Wire needed	ℓ = N × 2π(a + d/2)
DC resistance	R_dc = ρℓ / (πd²/4), ρ = 1.68×10⁻⁸ Ω·m
Inductance	L = µ₀µ_rN²(R − √(R² − a²))
Corner frequency	f_c = R_dc / (2πL)
Impedance	\|Z\| = √(R_dc² + (2πfL)²)
Peak current	I = V / \|Z\|
Heat	P = I²R_dc / 2 (sine wave)
Field inside	B = µ₀µ_rNI / (2πR)
Current density	J = (I/√2) / (πd²/4)

R is the ring radius, a the tube radius, N the turns, µ₀ = 4π×10⁻⁷ H/m. The inductance formula is exact for a toroid with a circular cross-section.

Check the app yourself

Runs every built-in check, then 1,000 rounds of random inputs through every calculation and control. It takes under a minute and briefly plays a tone.

About the picture

Materials are rendered with physically based shading and real optical values where they exist (for example quartz's refractive index). The shapes and sizes are one possible arrangement: the chats name materials and parts but give almost no dimensions.
